Bomb Threat Procedures Being Followed in Response to Threats Received Locally

Bomb threat procedures being followed throughout Eagle County in response to several bomb threats being received locally, across the state and the nation.
A bomb threat email has been sent to numerous individuals and businesses across the Vail Valley. The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office and the Avon Police Department have responded to the Falcon Point Condominiums in Avon and the Post Montane in Beaver Creek and agencies are currently coordinating a response at the Marriott Streamside in Vail. Properties in Avon and Beaver Creek were evacuated as of 12:30pm.
Employees and emergency responders are following bomb threat procedures established during annual trainings. No devices have been located at this time.
“At this point, we’re attempting to identify whether a threat actually exists,” said Tracy LeClair, public information officer for Eagle River Fire Protection District.
