UPDATE
7:00 am, 6/10/20: Sebastian Rodriguez Castro Search
River
operations continued yesterday, with Vail Mountain Rescue (VMR) and Garfield
County Search and Rescue (GCSAR) crews combing the river from the Highway 6 bridge
in Eagle to Hanging Lake in Glenwood Canyon. Searchers in kayaks, boats, and
the GCSAR Rescue Cat (motorized boat) made multiple laps up and down the river,
checking shorelines and islands. Dog teams were also utilized, as well as an
Unmanned Arial Vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone.
Search
efforts will continue today.
This is
a very difficult and emotional time for the family of Sebastian and the entire Eagle
County community. As we continue our search, we want to remind citizens that
the river is extremely dangerous and are urging everyone to leave search
efforts in this area to our highly trained water rescue teams. Thank you for
your continued support and patience!
