Drones banned from FIS Alpine World Ski Championships

The use of drones has been banned from all FIS Alpine World Ski Championships venues for spectator and participant safety. This includes Red Tail Stadium, Championships Plaza, Golden Peak Stadium and the event race courses. The ban has been issued by the event’s Public Safety Command in consultation with the Federal Aviation Administration. The Public Safety Command reserves the right to take all necessary actions to prevent drone induced hazards/threats to event participants and spectators. The use of any form of drone, private or commercial, requires all applicable FAA licenses. If any drone activity is witnessed, please report it to 911.
